Designed as a true extension of the home, this fully covered and heated outdoor living space required the addition of a new second-story roof structure with a complex tie-in to the existing home.

The design was developed through detailed 2D construction documents and a fully coordinated 3D model, allowing structural engineering, new foundation footings, and framing to be carefully integrated before construction.

The result is an outdoor room that feels original to the architecture rather than an addition.

The renovation transformed a distinctly 1980s home into one rooted in timeless craftsmanship and heritage-inspired design. Dated arches were removed in favor of clean architectural openings, while natural wood beams, floor-to-ceiling glazing, a new picture window, and widened passageways introduced light, proportion, and visual connection throughout the home.

At its heart, a chef's kitchen featuring a French range, & custom wood-fired pizza oven. is complemented by a dual-entry butler's pantry enclosed with black steel and glass grid doors, echoing the new doors that seamlessly connect the interior to the outdoor living spaces.

​Serving as the centerpiece of the outdoor living space, the custom wood-fired pizza oven required extensive planning long before installation.

Clad in hand-selected limestone and supported by a custom-engineered steel frame, the oven's significant depth and weight demanded careful structural coordination and space planning. A custom firebox sourced from the west coast was incorporated into the design, resulting in a feature that is both highly functional and sculptural—a focal point that anchors the entire outdoor experience.
